Your opportunity
The Veterinary Sciences Discipline within the Faculty of Science and Engineering is delivering Southern Cross University's new Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Veterinary Technology programs through an innovative, distributed model of clinical education.Working alongside experienced academics, veterinary professionals and industry partners, you'll help develop the next generation of veterinary practitioners through authentic, hands-on learning.
You will make an impact by:
Coordinating designated learning activities, clinical skills training and simulated learning experiences
Coaching students to develop the clinical skills, communication and professional behaviours expected of veterinary graduates
Supporting authentic client, animal and industry interactions across teaching and clinical environments
Working collaboratively with veterinary academics, technical staff and industry partners to deliver innovative veterinary education
Contributing to the ongoing development of Southern Cross University's exciting new veterinary programs
What you will bring
This role is ideal for an experienced veterinarian or veterinary technologist looking to transition from clinical practice into education, while remaining closely connected to the profession. Whether you're still practising, have recently left practice, or are seeking a rewarding part-time teaching opportunity alongside clinical work, this role offers the chance to share your expertise and make a lasting impact on future graduates.
To succeed in this role, you will also need:
Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a veterinarian or veterinary technologist in Australia
A degree in Veterinary Science/Medicine or Veterinary Technology recognised in Australia
A minimum of two years' recent clinical veterinary experience
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver student-centred and engaging learning experiences based on Competency Based Veterinary Education principles, and associated Workplace Based Assessment
Capacity to develop a Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT) portfolio and/or contribute to applied or clinical research and extension aligned with your expertise

Your opportunity is:
Full-time, continuing (permanent) position. Part-time or job-share arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate
Located at Lismore, NSW 2480. Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communities.
Appointment will be made as either:
ACAD Level B Lecturer. The base salary ranges from $114,482 - $135,392 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $158,409.
HEW Level 7. The base salary ranges from $108,361 - $117,660 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $137,662.
