SHN is looking for an experienced and motivated Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) (mid-level) or Registered Geologist (RG) with geotechnical experience to be a part of a growing team of geologists and engineers serving clients in southern Oregon and northern California. The right candidate will enjoy working on a wide variety of projects in a geologically dynamic region.
SHN is community focused and serves clients ranging from homeowners to municipal and governmental agencies. Our projects are equally as diverse in their level of complexity and technical challenge, and the RG/CEG will benefit from collaborating with knowledgeable senior staff and motivated engineers and geologists early in their careers.
The RG/CEG will be provided with the opportunity to lead and/or collaborate on developing proposals and overseeing all stages of engineering geologic projects including field and laboratory testing, data analysis, reporting and construction. The RG/CEG will also benefit from working closely with materials testing technicians and special inspectors that support three fully accredited materials testing laboratories, located in Coos Bay, OR, Eureka and Willits, CA. The Compensation Package
Full-time, non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
Wage range is $35 to $60 per hour, depending on experience and licensure

Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from an accredited college or university
At least 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical or soils engineering work, with 3 years being post-RG licensure, including:
Planning and conducting reconnaissance and subsurface field investigations,
slope stability mapping and evaluation
Experience with project management of various sizes
Experience with construction observations and working with a material testing laboratory
Preferred:
A working knowledge of the geologic and geotechnical conditions in the southern Oregon and northern California region
If not acquired already, interest in obtaining CEG licensure within 2 years.
Certificates and Licenses:
Professional Licensing (RG/CEG) with registration in Oregon
Professional Licensing (PG/CEG) with registration in California (preferred, not)
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Valid drivers’ license (Class C) and a satisfactory driving clearance
