









Description
- Represents Command 9 AF (AFCENT) with external agencies and organizations as a technical expert on information systems, hardware and software architectures, capabilities, characteristics, costs, effectiveness, interoperability standards/profiles, and utility. The incumbent
- Provides guidance on the technical direction of the organization, provides technical guidance and oversight, serves as the technical authority to the 9 AF Technology and Data Office, and
- Coordinates across the command as well as external stakeholders and partners to execute key technical initiatives supporting 9 AF strategic objectives and technical vision. The incumbent
- Ensures initiatives are technically sound, robust, and aligned with DAF, USCENTCOM strategic intent, and DoD National Defense Strategy, policy, guidance, and directives.
- Serves as a coalition builder across 9 AF, DAF, CENTCOM, and DoD programs and customers to expand adoption of corporate digital technologies through the analysis of common problems, gaps, and opportunities and alignment of innovative initiatives across the lifecycle.
- Engages with customers across the 9 AF subordinate organizations to understand priorities and gaps in digital capabilities.
- Develops strategic communications in support of senior leader engagements, panels, and speeches and written communication through public affairs. Utilize electronic media to communicate, train, and engage the workforce.
- Partners with CENTCOM Chief Technology Officer, CENTCOM Chief Data Officer, 9 AF Chief Data Officer, and DAF Senior Leaders to ensure priorities are properly aligned and complement those of CENTCOM, 9 AF, ACC, AFRL, SAF/AQ, Program Executive Officers, Chief Software Officer, Chief Information Officer, DAF CDAO, and other senior leaders.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and lead the day-to-day execution of a large-scale Innovation and Digital Transformation, in the 9 AFTechnology and Data Office.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from an accredited academic institution in either General Engineering (0801 Series) or Computer Science (1550 Series).
- Current TOP SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain this clearance.
- One (1) year of experience equivalent to a GS-15/DR-4 in the Federal Service.
- Combination of technology sector, operational integration of new technology, Congressional technology legislation, or OSD technology policy experience.
- Demonstrated experience identifying, planning, and conducting large scope technological research for innovative transformation strategies.
Other Requirements:
- US citizenship
- Incumbent is required to comply with the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
- This position is a high-level individual contributor and will not directly supervise personnel.
- Incumbent is required to file a public financial disclosure report (OG278) and conflict of interest statement before entering the position and upon termination.
