Overview
The Senior Manager, Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of technology resources to innovate and maintain core technology platforms.
Responsibilities
Leadership:
• Technical capability to lead development from concept to production for diversified product portfolio
• Lead strategic planning efforts for products/technologies to support business goals
• Partner with customersand manage the engineering and technical relationships. In addition tomanaginghigh profile customer issues, serve as thecompanyrepresentative in industry technical organizations and ensure staff capabilitiesandtechnologiesremain highly differentiatedwithin the market
• Proven track record in effectively managing diverse teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to organize the engineering functions to achieve objectives through effective utilization of staff
Operational Performance:
• Deliver NPI and R&D program deliverables on schedule and at or below cost targets
• Drive performance of the engineering function across the entireproduct groupin accordance with thecompany and site business objectives.
• Ensurecompliance with the product lifecycle management process, continuous improvement in engineering, and utilization of the engineering KPIs.
Talent Management:
• Responsible for building, structuring, leading, assessing and promoting a high performing, compliant technical workforce which exceeds departmental goals and objectives including succession planning
• Development strategy for critical knowledge transfer, rotations, and exposure for all to innovation and full technical life-cycle design and development.
• Responsible for driving a high-performing culture which anticipates and exceeds customer expectations
Qualifications
• 10+ years in product development, preferably in commercial and/or defense aerospace industry
• 5+ years in technical management role
• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Engineering required
• Master's Degree (M.S.) - preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate technical savvy and prowess in product innovation and design
• A proven ability to communicate vision, drive execution and work seamlessly with both technical teams and business teams
• Collaborative, innovative personality style with strong drive to improve the organizational talent and customer service
• Demonstrates a composed and collaborative approach while effectively holding self and others accountable.
