| Job Summary | The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with expertise in the field of Applied Mathematics. We look for candidates with research interests in Applied Mathematics broadly defined to include Machine Learning/AI and Partial Differential Equations. Candidates with research interests that are compatible with those of relevant research groups or with a strong funding potential are especially encouraged to apply. The anticipated courses this position will teach are MA 213 Calculus III, and MA 323 Mathematical Introduction to Data Science. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. The successful candidate is expected to pursue a vigorous research program and to deliver high quality teaching to both graduate and undergraduate students. The anticipated first year distribution of effort will be 25% Teaching, 70% Research, and 5% Departmental service. A Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field from an accredited institution is required.
